Right now is COVID-19. But a crisis can be anything that turns your life upside down, and it can come when least expected. During crisis time, we tend to lose focus on anything that is not the crisis itself. Raise your hand if you have seen and read the same COVID-19 updates in the news and social media a million times. By the time things go back to normal, we realize we lost momentum on our goals for days or weeks.

We are here to help you avoid the crisis-mindset trap. Once you have cleaned your house, you have made sure your loved ones are safe, you have a reasonable (re-a-so-na-ble) stock of food and cleaning supplies at home, and have washed your hands… it’s time to go back on track with your goals.

Mindset tools to keep you focused on what matters

Have a routine and stick to it.

Make sure you maintain your regular routine as much as possible. Don’t allow yourself to go full crisis mode and throw all your progress down the window because you are caught up at the moment.

Don’t binge on negative information.

Have a routine and stick to it. Make sure you maintain your regular routine as much as possible. Don't allow yourself to go full crisis mode and throw all your progress down the window because you are caught up at the moment.
Don't binge on negative information. Hearing or watching the same negative information over and over will only saturate your brain with bad stuff and activate your survival mode. If you don't need to safeguard your life, you will be wasting your creative energy on worrying about things you can't control or maybe don't even apply to you. It's your responsibility to stay informed and follow the correct process to be safe, but that's it. Don't go down the negative information rabbit hole.

Count your blessings.

Maybe you get to stay in and work from home. Perhaps your livelihood does not depend on you going out and expose to catching COVID-19. Possibly you have access to a hospital if you need it. Maybe your family and loved ones are not sick, and they too can be safe at home. Count your blessings if either one of them applies to you. There are millions of souls right now that don't have the luxury of having ONE of those

Take advantage of your new conditions.

If you have more time because you are momentarily working from home, don't use it as the perfect #netflixandchill opportunity. Use it wisely. Exercise every day, now that you don't have the excuse of commuting to your office. Learn something. Read that book you've been telling yourself you are too tired, too busy to start. Meditate. Eat extra healthy now that you can invest more time in making your food.

A crisis means some unexpected situations, that’s for sure. But it also requires you to stay disciplined and energized, with your eyes on the ultimate prize, which is the life you are working to create for yourself.

Oh, and when it comes to COVID-19. Wash your damn hands.

Your best version awaits.

Until next time,
